Summer mini class - Sat 29th Jan, Wed 2nd Feb and Sat 5th Feb.

Wow, haven't the holidays just flown by. Can't believe as I am writing this, that it is the last official day of the summer holidays. Very sad!!!
But its back to work, and I have my first class prepared for you. I must admit I spent much longer than usual preparing these samples, so I hope you like them. Its also the start of Sale-a-bration. A very exciting time, where for every $100 you spend you get to pick an exclusive stamp for absolutely free. And, if you place an order any time between now and sat 5th, I'll also give away one free hostess set as well. Bring a card for the competition and the best will also win a another hostess set of choice. Because I have three classes running for this judging will take place on the 5th, but anyone attending any of the classes is welcome to enter. Just bring your card to the class, it must be your original work and use mainly stampin up products.

The first card uses a few new things from the mini. The flowers, the tag, the beautiful thin lace, that is on so nice to use and a flower die cut. The envelope houses a small chocolate.

This card was somewhat cased from a sample in the American mini which I could not help looking at on the internet.
It uses the lovely lace again, the saftey pins and a new stamp set from the mini.

New stamps and die are used to create this little card. And although these paper roses have been around for ages, I thought I would include one in this card, just in case you haven't tried to make one of these yet.

I fell in love instantly with both these stamps sets from the mini. I just love, love, love this beautiful script in the greeting. The bird cage is stamped on acetate.

And last but not least, I thought we would have to make at least one valentine style card. Don't have a valentine? Why not use this in a scrap book or give it to a child. You can never tell them enough how much you care.

Dates: Sat 29th at 10.30am, (This class is now full) Wed 2nd Feb at 10am and Sat 5th at 10.30am
Cost: $25
RSVP: ASAP lovemumandme@bigpond.com to reserve a spot.
No need to bring anything, all provided and morning tea too.
All welcome

I have gone butterfly mad

A really quick card using Sweet and Sour Specialty paper. I love this paper because it has beautiful swirls clear embossed all over the paper which don't show up at all in the photo.

A butterfly case

I have always loved the card on page 82 of the catty, but have never really like the colour combo they have used. So I finally got around to making another version of it using pretty in pink as the main colour. What do you think?
It uses the versatile stamp set Friend 24-7.

Another Valentine

This card was constructed from pieces I have had laying on my desk for months. Do you ever stamp pieces for a project and then find they are not right for the project you are working on? Then they sit on your desk till one day inspiration strikes or I clean up and throw them out, whichever comes first. Anyway, I was happy with this simple little card, and since the pieces were already stamped it only took 5 mins to complete. The background stamp is French Filigree and the hear is from the hostess set Punch Potpurri. If you would like to maybe win this set I will be giving two away on the 29th of January. Its easy to enter by either placing an order over $100 on the day (email orders are acceptable to enter, you don't have to be there on the day) or making a card using mainly Stampin Up supplies and receive the most votes on the day. If you cant make it, but would

Ohoy Matey!

I thought I would use this holiday time to stock up on some birthday cards suitable for my kids to give out when they go to parties. I kept it pretty simple and quick using the Beware Pirates stamp set.

A few extremes

Teenage boys are soooo hard to make cards for, but when I saw these stamp in the catalogue, I knew it would be perfect to fill the gap in my stash of stamps. I have used Extreme Guitar and Extreme Elements. I just love the splash type stamp in this set.

A Summer Mini Case

When creativity is at a low, its always great to be able to flick through any of the SU catalogues for inspiration. I spend many an hour doing this, and love so many of the samples, but never seem to get around to making them. Well this holidays I have decided to change this, and have managed to make a few this week. Its great fun, and so easy to do. The card above is a CASE from page 6 of the mini. I changed one of the colours, otherwise its pretty much the same.

A {Heart} card and a special

Here's a simple little card I made for Valentine's Day. It uses only the one stamp set called Love Defined. I am not usually a heart sort of girl, but I thought this set was cute because it was not too lovey dovey.

Which reminds me...
The special this month (until the 24th of January) is purchase either the stamp set Sweetheart on page 38 of the catalogue ($38.95 for wood mount or $29.95 for clear mount) or the large heart punch and receive a free pack of heart sweet treat cups valued at $6.50.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all. I hope you and your families have had a happy, safe and enjoyable time over the holidays.
I am in heaven. Sleeping in every day, reading, playing with the kids and swimming in our pool, as well as making a few cards here and there have filled my days. I love it.
The card above is made using a few items from the new summer mini. It could easily become a birthday card with a change of the sentiment. By the time I made this I was completely over the xmas red and green combo....
