Tags and Boxes class on Wed 15th at 10am and Sat 18th at 10.30am

Wow, its such a busy time of year.....have you done all your christmas shopping? I sure haven't.

For this class I wanted to make lots of quick and easy boxes and tags to help with your preparations.
You can either use these mini milk cartons on the christmas table or with a small gift in them for someone special. And if you love these little boxes as much as I do, I will have some pre cut you can purchase to make up at home. They won't take long at all. I promise!

Now if you have been to a class here in the last year, you would have probably have seen a sample like this before. It was designed by the lovely Meryl Blacker and was given to me last year. I love it. Again it;s quick and easy to make and would make a lovely addition to anyone's stocking.

I completely cased this cute little santa quite some time ago, and have no knowledge at all who was the original creator. It's a great little pouch suitable for a gift and can be hung on the tree after. I just love him!

Tags always come in handy at christmas time, for those special gifts.

Now this next project is a gift card holder with lots of beautiful black glitter. I love the stuff. I give alot of gift cards so I always like to make them a little special.

Another gift box for you to complete. Again its quick and easy.

This little choc holder would make great gifts at the table, but I am going to use mine atop a present. You could also substitute a tealight candle for the chocolate.

And to finish with another tag using lots of glitter and masking.

If you would like to attend this class to make the 8 samples on either Wednesday at 10am or Saturday at 10.30am please email me to reserve your spot. Class cost is $25 and includes all materials, tools and morning tea.

Another "owl" card

Well, it uses the owl punch and the beautiful new embossing folder from the mini. I just love this texture.

A quick card

I recently held a team training day and showed a few ways to use the owl punch, this was one of them. It uses the owl body upside down to creat an alien. A great card for a kids birthday.

Some huuuuuge specials

Wow, you'll want to check these specials out.

My personal picks:

Teeny tiny sentiments - love these and they really come in handy so many times
The black marker - this was included in my starter kit. It is so nice to write with, and much finer than any I have used before.
Kind Heart- If you ever sell any of your cards you need this stamp. The little Stampin Up words are included on this stamp and need to go on any card that uses Stampin Up products.
A Little Treat - For that price how can you not get it!

Christmas card class for sat 27th and Wed 1st

A thousand apologizes firstly to all for the absence of pictures. You see, the Internet connection on the computer is down (so frustrating) so I can not post the samples here for you even though they are prepared. I am able to post this, as I am doing it from the iPad, but don't have the connection for the camera to get the photos on. Don't you just love computers?
Anyway, the classes are still on. We will be making 6 cards all with a Christmas theme.
One is a wreath card in crumb cake and expresso with a touch of green and red, one is a cute pair of elf shoes, one has a glittery dove in soft shades of blue, another has some stockings hanging on an embossed background, another uses the beautiful flocked papers available this month and lastly a quick Xmas tree with gold and purples.
Class is $25 and includes all materials. The sat class starts at 10.30am and the wednesday one at 10am.
I hope to get you some pictures soon, but can not promise much at the moment.
If you would like to come please email me to so I can prepare a kit for you.

It uses the Expresso sheet from the Neutral stack of papers. (Great value at 40 sheet for $37.95)
The olive ribbon is one of the free rolls you can get with any of the selected bundles on offer through November.

Banner class on Wed 3rd and Sat 6th Nov.

I have a lot of people a little dubious about this weeks class. After all "banner" does not really describe very well, the vision I had in my head. But, I have finally prepared the sample for you, and hope you like it. This little banner is constructed in covered chipboard, so its very tough, and most of the elements decorating it, are also chipboard. After all, its something that would only be out for a month and then would be packed away for another year. I am also hoping to prepare a blue/cream sample tonight, so if your decorating style differs from the traditional, you can opt for that version.

The big shot is used extensively in this class to create the elements and give lots of lovely texture. Its just amazing what this machine can do. I also have a great little trick for colouring pearls!

This class is offered on Wednesday the 3rd November at 10am and Saturday 6th November at 10.30am. The cost is $25 and includes all materials and morning tea. If you could bring along a pair of scissors sharp enough to cut the ribbon and lace that would be helpful.

If you would like to make a larger banner at home with the words 'christmas' on it to add to the 'merry', I will be preparing kits for this at an additional cost of $8 by request. The add on kits will include, paper, pre cut chipboard, ribbon, lace, flowers, buttons and pearls but will not include inks (old olive, real red and soft suede have been used), adhesive, glimmer spray, tools and stamps. You are welcome to glitter the letters in class if you wish.

The whole banner is coated in glimmer spray (made from the new champagne Ink) which you can just see on this pic.

On a more personal note....my little boy was off sick two weeks ago and was very sick with a very high fever for days, but finally recovered enough for me to send him back to school last week. On his first day back, he arrived home and sat on the lounge and was asleep within seconds. I just had to take a photo.

Variations on a fundraiser card

I really enjoyed making this quick flowers I used on the card I designed for the fundraiser, so I kept playing and made these cards that had a few more steps to them.

The colours used were River Rock, Pretty in Pink and Daffodil Yellow.

'Girls Night In' Success

We held our annual Girls Night In fundraiser on Saturday, so I thought I would share a few photos from the day. We had a terrific day, and managed a huge $1,325.00 from the exercise. So a massive thankyou to all those that made this possible.
The pic above shows the lucky door prize tickets everyone received as they walked in. I had a few questions about the sticks I used and they were from Ikea (my favourite storage store). Can not remember how much they were, but they were very inexpensive. As I had to make 60 of these, they were designed to be quick and easy to whip up, and were something a little different from a boring old raffle ticket. Now we couldn't have that, could we?

Now onto the cards we all made on the day. This card was super simple and only took minutes to assemble. I just added some glitter to mine when I got home. Have I told you I looooove glitter!

A quick christmas one using the delightful decorations stamp and matching punch. This is one of the bundles this month which includes a free roll of ribbon. Once again I added some glitter when I got home with some thin double sided tape. Are you surprised?

This card was actually a case from the lovely Jayne Mercer. I just loved the use of the border punch down the side and the petal a plenty embossing folder strip.

Another christmas one using lots of punching and my new favourite colour, cherry cobler.

Everyone got to make one of these easy pouches in varied colours. I love the look of them all together. Wouldn't they look great on a dinner table together....

This easy card I think was my favourite of the day. I just love the A to Z stamp in the background. Its so understated but just adds the right amount of detail and interest to what could very easily be a very boring card. I played around with this card and came up with some variations on it, which I'll post shortly.

And this is all of us at the end of a tiring day, after packing up in the rain, hair frizzy, but really happy that the day worked out so well. You know, Friday night I was convinced I was never going to do this again, but come Sunday, I have already started planning the next one.

Congratulations to all those that took home baskets full of prizes - and I think that was most of you.
I hope you all had a splendid time. And a special thanks to those that could not make it on the day but donated anyway. Lets hope the Cancer Council uses the money in a way that can benefit us all.

Christmas Special

Yeh!!! After months and months of computer problems, I have finally managed to get it into normal working order again ($219 later of course), so once again I can start posting on a more regular basis, without the pain an extremely slow computer can inflict.

This card, which I must admit is rather like a card I posted last month uses the beautiful Welcome Christmas stamp set.
You can purchase this set till the end of Nov along with the stunning Christmas Cocoa specialty papers and receive a free roll of ribbon from the selected four Stampin' Up! have on offer. I will receive my order soon, and then will make up some samples for you. There are also three other bundles included in the free ribbon offer, so check out the special on the Stampin Up website. Its always nice to receive something for free, and free ribbon is always a winner on my list.

Gift class - Sat 16th and Wed 20th Oct

The next class is all about gifts. The first project is this cute little milk carton perfect for small presents.

And then we have this magnetic post it note holder.

Calendars are always great for gifts and this one is in acylic holder so will last the year out in great condition. The design is based totally on a card designed by my lovely friend Rachel Jackson.

And for the largest project of the class we have a decorated box of candles. Its an inexpensive gift to make, but I'm sure it will be well received by a friend.

I thought that sentiment stamp went so well with the candle theme.
The class is offered on Sat 16th at 10.30am and Wed 20th at 10am. Cost is $25 and includes all materials and tools for the completed gifts.
Email me if you would like to attend to reserve your spot.

Always Elegant

Sometimes I just love clean simple cards that are quick to make, yet elegant all the same.
For this card I used the new stamp set Always Elegant and the beautiful new in colour Concord Crush for the cardstock and designer paper. The only other colour is the returning River Rock.

Cherry Cobbler

I'm totally in love with the new colour Cherry Cobler. But I have to admit this affair did not start till I held a piece of cardstock in my hands, the catalogue does not do the colour justice as all. It's such a vibrant deep shade of red, its going to perfect for christmas! Here I teamed it with some Old Olive and Very Vanilla and some of the beautiful Champagne shimmer ink.
Stamps used were Just Believe and A to Z.

New class for Wed 29th and Sat 2nd

Yeh!!!! It's the first day of the school holidays. Love school holidays. No lunches to make, no uniforms to iron and best of all, I get to stay up super late and sleep in most mornings. I'm in heaven.

Anyway, I best introduce you to the next class using the beautiful Love Letter Designer Papers.

You can not see in any of the photographs but most of these cards have a lovely golden glow on them which has been created using the new champagne mist ink. I'm just not that a good a photographer so did not even try to capture it for you. We will be using distress inks in a few different ways to create a vintage feel about the cards, that I hope you will find interesting.

This one uses maghony distress ink and the new stamp from Contempo Christmas embossed in gold.

And this card combines some flowers created on the Big Shot and a beautiful Vintage Brad. I have already used so many of these brads - just love them!

This card really shines when you see it in person and uses another of the vintage brads. Dasher is really getting a workout around here.

Dates: Wed 29th Oct at 10am and Sat 2nd Oct at 10.30am
Cost: $25
Please email me if you would like to attend so I can prepare a kit for you.

And please don't forget to check out the fundraiser I am organising on the 23rd for the Cancer Council. You can read more about it by clicking on the Special Event Button at the top of the posts.
We would love to see you there.
